This week we look at autoresponders or AutoResponders in marketing speak. There are three or four top (paid) autoresponders to choose from and a few are free. We look at AWeber as a service because it works for us.

As a business it is very important to communicate with customers for the purpose of creating a relationship. Internet Marketers understand that one of the basic methods to communicate and relate is to maintain emails between the business and the customer. The communication is essentially the same as standing in front of a store with a smile on your face and inviting people inside the store.

The internet site is essentially your store, yet it is unique. Like a brick and mortar store your business is open to customers. They will browse and hopefully buy. The casual visitor (potential customer) may like it when a sales person welcomes them into the store and points the customer to a particular item. There are customers that prefer to look around on their own, maybe buy, and maybe not! Those that do not buy usually leave the store with a polite thank you. All future communication with that potential customer is loss. Those that do buy are your preferred customer simply because they bought something from your store. It is the paying customer that you want to establish an ongoing relationship! The problem is once the customer buys and leaves the store it is almost impossible to invite them back for a repeat visit. Internet Marketers have a solution for this problem.

The solution on the internet is to capture your paying and non-paying customer's email address. An AutoResponder System is designed for that purpose. Your customer subscribes to your AutoResponder System and becomes a subscriber. At a later date you simply invite the customer back to the store for a repeat visit.
